The Greene County Public Health Safe Communities Coalition and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is urging drivers to buckle up ahead of a national Click It or Ticket high-visibility seat belt enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 20 to June 2, 2024.Full Story
In April, the Greene County Safe Communities Coalition, part of Greene County Public Health, held its annual Spring AAA Seat Belt Challenge for 2024! The Coalition is proud to announce that the winner of this year’s challenge is Xenia High School! Congratulations to Xenia High School and, especially, their students! Xenia took the lead with 89.7% of their students buckled. In second place was the Greene County Career Center who had 86.7% of students buckled, while 3rd place was secured by Beavercreek High School who had 85.1% of their students buckled. Xenia High School will be awarded $250 to go towards improving safety at the school.Full Story
