Greene County Combined Health District To Co-Host a

“Test Your Well” Fair

 

(XENIA, OH)  The Greene County Combined Health District (GCCHD) is co-hosting FREE a “Test Your Well” Fair on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Greene County Career Center Cafeteria, 2960 West Enon Road, Xenia.  Free, confidential nitrate screenings and well maintenance information will be available.

 

Greene County residents who have a home well that is more than 40 years old, less than 50 feet deep and/or has not been tested in over a year (any or all of these) are invited to bring a water sample to the fair.

To collect a proper well water sample for this testing:

 

§        Pick up a sample container from the Greene County Combined Health District, 360 Wilson Dr., Xenia.  You may also use a clean jar that seals tightly.

§        Collect the sample on September 25, 2007.

§        Remove any aerator, screen or filter from your faucet.

§        Run water for 5 minutes to clear the line and bring in fresh water from the well.

§        Do not touch the lip, the inside of the container or the inside of the cap.

§        Fill the container and cap it tightly.

§        Keep the sample refrigerated until the “Test Your Well” Fair

§        Bring the sample to the Career Center between 5 and 7 p.m. on the 25th.

 

The “Test Your Well” Fair is being co-hosted by the GCCHD, the Greene County FFA Chapter, the Greene County Career Center, Greene County Sanitary Engineering, the Greene County Farm Bureau,

 

the Greene County Soil and Water Conservation District, Miami Conservancy District and the Greene County OSU Extension Office.
