Greene County Combined Health District Announces
Volunteer Reception Center Exercise
(XENIA, OH) The Greene County Combined Health District will be conducting a Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) Exercise at the Media Center at 541 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (registration and continental breakfast will be held from 8 – 9 a.m.). This exercise is for Ohio Citizens Corps (OCC) members, including Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), CERT volunteers, Fire Corps, Neighborhood Watch, Just in Time volunteers and other interested citizens.
The purpose of the Volunteer Reception Center Exercise is to practice and demonstrate how a VRC aids in managing community emergency response by integrating Ohio Citizens Corps (OCC) volunteers in response and recovery efforts. There is no cost to attend the event; however, registration is required. Partnering agencies include the Greene County Emergency Management Agency and the United Way.

The Greene County MRC volunteers include medical professionals and non-medical persons. The Greene County MRC is a volunteer organization that is coordinated by the Greene County Combined Health District (GCCHD) in partnership with the Greene County Emergency Management Agency. The role of the MRC is to provide medical support to the community during emergencies.
