GREENE COUNTY COMBINED HEALTH DISTRICT
PARTNERS WITH THE AMERICAN RED CROSS
IN DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS
(Xenia, OH) Greene County Combined
Health District’s (GCCHD) Health Commissioner, Mark A. McDonnell announced
today that the health district is partnering with the American Red Cross to
assist in the mobilization of trained disaster relief workers to provide aid to
Hurricane Katrina victims.
Greene
County Medical Reserve Corp (MRC) a volunteer group of trained disaster relief
professionals is housed at the health district. The health district is the
direct liaison between the MRC and the American Red Cross. The activation of
local volunteers is underway. Currently,
Greene County MRC has over 113 volunteers including 25 physicians and physician
assistants and 65 nurses.
