Celebrates Greene County Health & Fitness Week
May 16 – 22, 2005 With Two Events
(Xenia,
OH) Greene County Combined Health District announces that the Board of Greene
County Commissioners designated May 16 through May 22, 2005 as the Greene County
Health & Fitness Week and urges all residents and employees of Greene County to
exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet.
In
celebration of Greene County Health & Fitness week, GCCDH is encouraging Greene
County residents to participate in two upcoming events.
The
first event is Ohio’s first statewide Healthy Ohioans Fitness Walk, which
will take place on Thursday, May 19th. The goal of this fitness walk
is to motivate 1 million Ohioans to walk one mile at noon on May 19th.

The
second event is GCCHD’s 2nd Annual Greene County Fitness Challenge,
commit 2B fit, activ8 your life on Saturday, May 21st from 11:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at Beavercreek High School. FREE t-shirts for participating in the
following activities: climbing wall by Urban Krag; fitness classes by Jazzercise
and Wright State University Wellness and recreation; healthy snack demos and
tastes; and information booths on fitness and health. This event is free and
open to the public. Individuals, youth and families are encouraged to attend.
