Combined Health District to Begin (Xenia, OH) The Greene County Combined Health District will be administering flu immunizations beginning October 18, 2004 for Greene County residents only. Immunizations will be given to residents age 65 and older and residents 18 and older who have a chronic illness and bring a doctor’s statement. GCCHD announces a new plan for 2004 to increase efficiency and to improve conditions for the Greene County community. Flu shots will be provided in the Media Room at the Greene County Social Service Center building, located at 541 Ledbetter Road, Xenia. Additionally, flu immunizations will be given at the Senior Citizen Centers throughout Greene County. Flu Immunization Clinics will be held at the following times and locations:
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is recommending that children age 6 months through 23 months receive the flu vaccine. Children’s flu shots will be available during GCCHD’s Immunization Clinic, 360 Wilson Drive, Xenia, held on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A child receiving the flu vaccine for the first time will need two shots, one month apart. A child who has received the vaccine in prior years, whether one shot or two, will only need one shot this year. The cost of the flu immunization is $14.00 for adults and children. Medicaid and Medicare Part B accepted. The card must be presented at the time of service.
