COUNTY COMBINED HEALTH DISTRICT (Xenia, OH) Greene County Combined Health District received the 2004 Winners Award for the Healthy Ohioans Directors’ Challenge from the Ohio Department of Health. The award was presented at the annual Ohio Health Commissioners May Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The goal of the Ohio Department of Health’s Healthy Ohioans Director’s Challenge was to get employees at health departments throughout the state to participate in a program that increased ones daily steps by 10%. Each participant wore a pedometer and recorded their daily steps. GCCHD had 36 employees completing the challenge that ran for 10 weeks during fall 2003.
