GREENE COUNTY COMBINED HEALTH DISTRICT
PARTICIPATING IN A PILOT PROJECT
TO PROVIDE FREE 20-MINUTE HIV TESTS

(Xenia, OH) Mark A. McDonnell, Health Commissioner, Greene County Combined Health District, announced that the Health District is participating in a pilot project with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) to provide free 20-minute HIV tests.

The pilot project scheduled for February through August 2004, provides a free 20-minute OraQuick HIV test. The test is very simple and includes only a finger stick. Results are provided within a 20-minute time period. The 20-minute test is only being offered at the Health District Office, located at 360 Wilson Drive, Xenia. Appointments are needed and can be made by calling 937-374-5600 or 1-866-858-3588.

GCCHD provides HIV/AIDS education, confidential and anonymous testing and counseling services to anyone over the age of 13 free of charge. Additional HIV/AIDS testing sites include: TCN Behavioral Health Center, Xenia, 937-375-8870; Fayette County Health Department, Washington Court House, 740-335-5910; Clinton County Health Department, Wilmington, 937-382-7221; and Warren County Health Department, Lebanon, 513-695-1229. For university students the following testing sites are available: Antioch College, Yellow Springs, 937-769-1130; Central State University, Wilberforce, 937376-6134; Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, 937-708-5506; and Wright State University, Fairborn, 937-775-5252.
