Greene County Combined Health District
Awarded American Cancer Society
Grant for Tobacco Free Kids

(Xenia, OH) Greene County Combined Health District was awarded a Community Investment Grant from the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division. This grant was made possible by the funds from Relay for Life.

The $2,000.00 grant will fund the Tobacco Free Kids in Greene County Program. Greene County fourth grade students will have the opportunity to participate in this program. The program has three components: participation in the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery “Clear the Air” education exhibit; student creation of a “Clear the Air” poster; and students signing a “tobacco free for life” pledge form. Posters will be judged by members of the Tobacco-Free Healthy Communities Coalition, a group of citizens, business representatives, health care professionals and social service agency representatives who are interested in decreasing tobacco use in Greene County. Posters will be on display at the Greene County Social Services Building, located at 601 Ledbetter Road, Xenia.
