Greene County Combined Health District and the Xenia Fire Department are sponsoring A Free Child Car Seat Safety Check (Xenia,
Ohio) The Greene County Combined Health District and the Xenia Fire Department
are sponsoring a free child car seat safety check on Tuesday, March 11th
from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Xenia Fire Station 2, located at 849 West
Second Street. Technicians
will check each car seat for proper installation. The inspection takes an
average of 20 minutes. No appointment is necessary. The goal of
the car seat safety check is to educate parents how to properly install car
seats. In order for car seats to
work effectively, they must be used correctly.
Serious injury to children in a traffic crash is reduced by 71 percent
for infants and 54 percent for toddlers when car seats are used properly. A few
minutes to check for proper installation of car a seat may save a child’s
