SPECIALTY CLINICS

 

Heart, Hearing, and Vision Clinic Conducted in cooperation with the Ohio Department of Health, and BCMH.

Eligibility: Children, preschool through age 21, with referrals from appropriate sources.

Purpose: To provide/facilitate follow-up comprehensive diagnostic services to area children referred to clinics for heart, vision, or hearing problems.

Description:

- Heart Clinic The Heart Clinic is designed to confirm or rule out a possible heart condition, evaluate those found and set up a plan of treatment. Examinations are conducted by a pediatric heart specialist with an ECG technician in attendance.

- Pediatric Otological Diagnostic Clinic (POD) Evaluations of possible speech and /or hearing problems are conducted by an audiologist, speech therapist, and ENT physician. Recommendations for treatment and referrals are made for children with speech or hearing problems.

- Diagnostic Ocular Pediatric Clinic (DOP) Evaluations are conducted by an ophthalmologist or optometrist to determine acuity, muscle imbalance, or other eye problems. Referrals and/or prescriptions are given as appropriate.
