Announces Winners of the Radon Action Week Poster Contest
(Xenia, Ohio) Greene County Combined Health District announced that Xenia High School Chemistry students participated in a poster contest to raise awareness about radon and to promote radon testing in homes.
The event, sponsored by the health district and the Ohio Department of Health, was part of the activities for Radon Action Week, October 17th – 23rd.
Poster judges included representatives from the American Lung Association, the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Ohio Indoor Air Quality Coalition.
Winning
first place and receiving a $100 U.S. Savings Bond was Mia Hall. Placing
second and receiving a $50 U.S. Savings Bond was Kala Stidman.
Greene County Combined Health District provides free radon test kits and all residents are encouraged to get one. Test kits are available at 360 Wilson Drive, Xenia, Ohio, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
